The main and tail rotor actuators for the new Bell Agusta AB139 medium-twin helicopter are to be supplied by UK-based FHL.
FHL is teaming with Italian aerospace and defence hydraulic components specialist Mecaer to provide the main primary flight control and tail rotor actuators. Production deliveries are due to begin in 2002.
Bell Agusta unveiled the 12-15 seat AB139 earlier this week. FHL managing director Alan Bean says: "In addition to the most cost-effective and innovative technical solution for the AB139 flight control requirement, a key success factor was the excellent relationship established between FHL and Mecaer.
"In securing this contract we were able to combine the strengths of both companies to produce world-class products for the latest generation helicopter."
