US aftermarket support firm GA Telesis has taken over Finnair's engine overhaul shop in Helsinki.
The Nordic carrier decided in April 2012 to close its in-house engine and component MRO activities to concentrate on its airline operations.
GA Telesis will rent the engine shop from airline and take over 80 employees from its former, approximately 200-strong engine services division, says Finnair.
The Fort Lauderdale-based company will retain the existing overhaul capabilities for General Electric CF6-80C2, CFM International CFM56-5B/5C and Pratt & Whitney PW2000 engines, and has renamed the facility GA Telesis Engine Services.
