The first three Boeing 737-800s are approaching completion at Renton, Washington. The first example (nearest) is due to join four -700s already in the flight-test programme in July before eventually being delivered to type launch customer Hapag-Lloyd of Germany. A further three -600s will join the programme, beginning early in 1998. All will be recycled to customers after completion of flight testing.
