The first of seven Airbus A340-300s for China Airlines (CAL) is being prepared for delivery at Airbus' Toulouse production plant. The airline placed orders for the type as part of a major fleet re-equipment deal in August 1999, which included orders for 13 Boeing 747-400s and five 737-800s. CAL also holds options for four A330s.
