The Avro RJX-100 made its first flight on 23 September from BAE Systems Woodford plant near Manchester, UK. The aircraft achieved speeds up to 250kt (460km/h) and a maximum altitude of 26,000ft (7,900m) during the 3h 10min flight. The other RJX in flight-test, an RJX-85, is in Phoenix, USA, and has achieved 40h of ground testing under high ambient temperatures. Deliveries to launch customer British European are due to begin in the second quarter of next year.
