Adam Aircraft has announced the first customer delivery of its A500 centerline piston-engine twin aircraft to a Colorado Springs business executive. “This is great news for the firm. Adam has moved from a developmental start-up company that makes experimental aircraft to an FAA certificated manufacturer that is delivering standard airworthiness aircraft,” says Rick Adam, chairman and chief executive. “We are very pleased that the General Aviation Manufacturers Association has unanimously voted us into its national trade association.”

The delivery announcement follows FAA Approved Production Inspection System (APIS) certification, allowing Adam to inspect its own aircraft. Adam says it wants to deliver six A500s every month and achieved its APIS designation within 90 days of receiving type certification. The firm says that it remains on track for its FAA production certificate in the first quarter of 2006.
