Xiamen Airlines has taken delivery of the first of 30 Boeing 737 Max aircraft it has on order.
The Max 8, registered B-1288, was handed over to the airline in Seattle this morning. Flight Fleets Analzyer shows that the jet is owned and managed by Xiamen Airlines.
The carrier tells FlightGlobal that the CFM International Leap-1B-powered jet will mostly be used to link Fuzhou to points across Southeast Asia.
In March, the carrier firmed an order for 20 737 Max 8 and 10 737 Max 10 aircraft.
Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the all-Boeing operator has 164 aircraft in service, comprised of 148 737s, 12 787s and four 757s.
