Canadian engineering and completions specialist Flying Colours has completed and delivered its first Bombardier Global Express refurbishment and maintenance project for an undisclosed Malaysian customer.
This latest contract includes a full revamp of all interior soft goods, woodwork, and numerous in-flight entertainment upgrades in the cabin such as iPad holders and docks. "A particularly unique element of the refurbishment was the modification of the aft cabin to enable the installation of a permanent custom-made bed," says Flying Colours. This was the first time such a modification was undertaken by the company - which is based in Peterborough, Ontario - on a Global Express and was accomplished under a new supplemental type certificate.
"We have already completed four significant Global projects in the last year, and expect to continue to expand this area of our offering, particularly as it is of such great appeal to the Asian market where we are rapidly expanding," says Flying Colours director of sales and marketing, Sean Gillespie.
