Fokker Elmo has been selected to cooperate on the development of an electrical wiring and interconnection system (EWIS) for the Comac ARJ21 aircraft.
The Dutch electrical systems specialist, which is part of Fokker Technologies, inked a contract with Comac division Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute (SADRI) at the Zhuhai air show in China.
Cooperation under the deal will begin in early 2013 and will be carried out at SADRI's facilities in Shanghai.
The agreement covers the current ARJ21 EWIS evolution to meet the international standards of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, US Federal Aviation Administration and European Aviation Safety Agency.
"Fokker Elmo is also pleased that it will extend its presence and cooperation within the Chinese Aerospace community," says Jan Lagasse, president of Fokker Elmo.
