Peter Sutch, former chairman of Cathay Pacific Airways, died last week in Rome after a long illness. Sutch, 56, joined Cathay parent company Swire Pacific's shipping division in 1966 and had been with the airline since 1970, before becoming chairman in 1992. He resigned in 1999 to join UK airline investment group Aviation Partners Worldwide (formerly Tolmount) as chairman. Sutch resigned late last year due to ill health.
