Aircraft and engine parts company Fortran Aviation said the five Fokker 50s recently purchased by its subsidiary are being sold to Indonesian start-up airline Pacific Royale Airways.
The Fokker 50s, equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW127B engines, were acquired from Ethiopian Airlines.
The first aircraft, MSN 20313, was manufactured in 1995. Another aircraft, MSN 20331, was built in 1996 while the remaining three aircraft, MSNs 20328, 20333 and 20335, were manufactured in 1997.
Royal Pacific Airways is due to start operations later this month after it receives its air operator's certificate.
The full-service carrier was established by Indian and Indonesian entrepreneurs last year. It is expected to operate five Airbus A320s from its Soekarno-Hatta hub in addition to its Fokker 50 fleet.
