The US Department of Transportation (DoT) has approved the regulations covering fractional aircraft ownership operations and has passed the final proposal to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The announcement comes more than three years after a Federal Aviation Administration-led committee created the FAR Part 91, Subpart K, regulation and revised the rules governing FAR Part 135 on-demand operations. The OMB should "take no longer than 90 days to complete its review and should have minimal concern with the [final] rule," says the National Business Aviation Association, a member of the committee. The DoT expects a decision from the OMB in early June.
