Denver-based carrier Frontier Airlines has firmed up a letter of intent with LiveTV to install the in-flight entertainment (IFE) service provider's live television system on its Airbus A319s and new A318s. Forty-six aircraft will be equipped, offering passengers 24 channels of DirecTV programming. The first installation is scheduled for October, a second in November and four in December, with installations to be completed in 2005. Frontier becomes the second LiveTV operator after launch customer JetBlue Airways, which recently announced plans to acquire the IFE company from its parents Thales Avionics In-Flight Systems and Harris. The acquisition is expected to be concluded in the fourth quarter.
