Itschak Gat has been named as the new chief executive of Israeli defence company Elisra Group. His background includes six years as CEO of the Rafael-IMOD weapons development authority.

Elisra Group chief executive Itschak GatGat joined Rafael after 27 years in the Israel Air Force, as a pilot, soldier and commander. His last position in the IDF was head of the logistics and engineering directorate.

His military career includes command of two combat squadrons, commander of Ramat David air force base, and head of the operational requirement department. He holds a BSc in aeronautics from the Technion Institute of Technology.

The Elisra Group comprises Elisra Electronic Systems, Tadiran Electronic Systems and Tadiran Spectralink. Elisra designs, develops, manufactures, integrates and supports advanced systems for air, sea and land deployment in more than 25 countries.
