General Electric and MTU have finalised their MRO partnership for the turbine centre frame on the GEnx family.
The Munich-based engine specialist is the sole supplier of the subassembly for the engine series powering the Boeing 787 and 747-8.
Now, both manufacturer have signed an agreement that MTU will conduct MRO services on the US engine maker’s behalf.
The contract has been set for the engine’s entire lifecycle and has an estimated volume of more than €3 billion ($3.7 billion), says MTU.
