General Electric is to restructure its 11 areas of activity into six “industry focused business units” as part of a drive to increase growth and profitability. The company’s aircraft engines division will become part of GE Infrastructure, led by newly promoted vice-chairman Dave Calhoun, who was previously president and chief executive of GE Transportation.
