Germany is making its presence felt at Dubai 2003 with no fewer than 26 companies presenting their products at a joint display (Stand W732-735).

The order by Emirates for 41 Airbus A380 passenger aircraft has highlighted the importance of the region for European companies.

Hans Joachim Gante, managing director of the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI), says: "The order has become a striking symbol of the dynamic growth emanating from the United Arab Emirates. It accounts for almost one-third of all previous orders for the A380."

A number of smaller German companies have received follow-up orders for equipment and are keen to visit the region along with some of their larger counterparts.

Reconnaissance

Among the 16 companies on the joint stand in the west hall are Autoflug, offering fuel-gauge and control systems as well as safety seats; Hydro-Geratebau, specialising in the development and manufacture of aircraft ground support equipment; Rhode & Schwarz, offering a wide product range of radio monitoring, measuring and location equipment; and Bodensee Geratetechnik, presenting reconnaissance and warning systems.
