Brazilian carrier Gol and GECAS have finalised a sale-and-leaseback and direct lease deals covering 12 Boeing 737 aircraft.
The SLB will cover seven 737s from Gol's orderbook, including two 737-800s and five 737 Max 8s, and the direct leases are for five 737-8s from GECAS's orderbook, the airline says today.
One of the five GECAS aircraft will arrive in the second half of 2018 with the balance thereafter, Gol says.
With the deal, Gol will take delivery of six 737-8s in 2018, including five from its own orderbook under a SLB with AWAS plus the GECAS aircraft. It will end the year with 121 aircraft.
The carrier is scheduled to take nine 737-8s from its orderbook in 2019, the Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.
Richard Lark, chief financial officer of GOL, said in August that the airline would finance at least half of its 2019 deliveries with SLBs.
GECAS is scheduled to take delivery of one 737-8 in the second half of 2018 and 12 in 2019, Fleets Analyzer shows.
Gol will configure its 737-8s with 186 seats.
