Delta chief executive Leo Mullin offers a new perspective on the current crop of record on-time performance figures among US airlines. The answer is, of course, unfortunately more to do with fewer aircraft and passengers in the system than any particular miracle of technology or infrastructure breakthrough. In Mullin's words: "Frankly, I long for the days when delays are lengthy and everyone is bitching. Looking back, those were the good days!"
