Goodrich has delivered the first production CF34-10 nacelle system to General Electric as part of a sales deal for the Embraer 190 commercial jet that is expected to generate $1.4 billion. The company will deliver a total of 44 nacelle units this year and more than 100 in the 2006-07 period.

Goodrich achieved the first delivery milestone through contributions from four of its Aerostructures business unit facilities: Chula Vista, California (detail engine build-up parts); Riverside, California (inlet inner barrel skins); San Marcos, Texas (exhaust systems); and Foley, Alabama (inlet and fan cowl assemblies).

Validated

Allen Osmialowski Good-rich's CF34-10 Nacelle programme manager says: "This initial production unit delivery has validated our Lean Product Development process. Through our Lean efforts we are on schedule to complete the final certification work and deliver production hardware on schedule."
