Roger Wright, president of the Goodrich landing gear division, has reason to look delighted. His company has sealed an agreement to supply all the landing gear for the entire Boeing fleet of commercial aircraft.

The deal, which is on an exclusive basis for the next five years, is estimated to be worth more than $2 billion and replaces 14 previous contracts.

This new agreement - signed just three months after the North Carolina-based firm won the A380 landing gear award - reinforces the strategic value of the acquisition of Coltec Industries nearly two years ago. The $2.2 billion merger significantly boosted Goodrich's aerospace business and added engineered industrial products to the portfolio. Some 18% of all Goodrich's revenues come from original equipment sales to Boeing.
