Goodrich¹s Landing Systems Services is bringing its plans for a landing gear overhaul base in Asia back on to the front burner, says VP Brian Gora.

Goodrich slipped its original timetable in response to an increase in the time between overhauls on Boeing 777 landing gear, the main target market.

Gora, who added the Goodrich landing-gear activity to the wheel and brake overhaul operation he already managed in March, is evaluating potential sites for the new base and wants it to be up and running within two years.

Exact timing of the opening depends on market conditions, according to Gora, but the new location is likely to offer not only 777 capability but also facilities for the 767 and 747.
