Greek electronic warfare deal agreed by USA

The US Department of Defense has finally approved Greece's purchase of Israeli electronic warfare systems for its order for 50 Lockheed Martin F-16s. Elisra now expects to complete the contract before the end of the year. The selection follows the Greek defence ministry's decision last year to cancel the international tender for the systems, opting instead for Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI) to supply the suites in collaboration with Elisra. The USA had sought to kill the deal for several months.
