Gulf Air has completed its first in-sourced Airbus A330 18-month maintenance check and is to carry out its first C-check next month.
The carrier announced in 2012 that its technical division was taking over responsibility for line maintenance and technical fleet management from MRO contractor SIA Engineering.
But the Bahraini carrier now says that following successful completion of its first in-house A330 18-month check, it is looking forward to the "next important milestone" in its "challenging" strategy, which is the C-check scheduled for January 2015.
Gulf Air also conducts in-house 20-month checks on its Airbus A320s, as well as A-checks, mini-checks, out-of-phase work and line maintenance across its all-Airbus fleet.
Fightglobal's Ascend Fleets database shows that Gulf Air has 22 A320-family aircraft and six A330s in service.
