Gulfstream has received provisional certification for the G550, formerly the GV-SP ultra-long-range business jet, which introduces the company's PlaneView cockpit featuring large-format displays, cursor-control devices and enhanced-vision system. Operational limitations in the provisional certificate will be removed before the G550 enters service in the third quarter of 2003, Gulfstream says. The G550 has an increased 12,500km (6,750nm), range compared with the GV, which it replaces in production. The long-range GV received long-awaited European certification on 31 October.
