Elbit Systems has secured a $103 million contract to provide electronic warfare (EW) suites for helicopters operated by an Asia-Pacific air force.
“Demand for combat-proven EW systems is getting stronger as the electro-magnetic spectrum becomes increasingly contested and the threat to aircraft gets more acute,” says Elbit executive vice president Edgar Maimon.
“I believe that Elbit Systems is well positioned to address this rising need.”
The work will involve fitting customer helicopters with EW suites including countermeasures systems.
The Israeli company did not name the customer, type of aircraft, or number of suites to be procured. The project’s timeframe was also not detailed.
Elbit promotes its products at air shows and defence events throughout the region.
