One French soldier was killed and another two people injured when an Airbus Helicopters EC725 Caracal crashed in Burkina Faso on 29 November.
The French defence ministry says the incident occurred during a night-time training flight, and that the casualties were taken to a field hospital at N’Djamena air base in Chad. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash, it adds.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Fleets databaserecords the French air force as having an active fleet of 12 combat search and rescue-roled EC725s prior to the incident.
