Airbus Helicopters has completed deliveries under a three-unit deal to equip the Lithuanian armed forces with AS365 N3+ rotorcraft equipped for search and rescue (SAR).
“Only two years after ordering the helicopters, the Lithuanian armed forces are now ready to ensure SAR 24/7 service,” the European airframer says. The NATO nation declared its new aircraft operationally ready on 11 January, it adds.
Deliveries of the AS365s were made in June, September and December 2015, Airbus Helicopters says. The company is also under contract to deliver a three-year package of in-service support and spare parts, and has committed itself to enabling an availability rate of 80%.
Flightglobal’s Fleets Analyzer database records the new assets as in use with the Lithuanian air force. It also shows the service as operating three Mil Mi-8 transports.
