Serbia’s first of an eventual nine H145Ms was handed over to its air force at the Partner Defence Exhibition in Belgrade on 25 June.
The medium-twin is in a search and rescue configuration. Subsequent aircraft will be equipped with Airbus Helicopters' HForce modular weapons package, with Belgrade considering the integration of locally-produced armaments as part of this process for the air force. The Serbian interior ministry will receive unarmed examples of the Safran Helicopter Engines Arriel-2E-powered type.
Meanwhile, Airbus Helicopters has appointed Serbia’s Moma Stanojlovic aeronautical plant as an approved maintenance centre for the legacy SA341/342 Gazelle light helicopter. Cirium’s Fleets Analyzer shows that the Serbian air force operates 30 of the type.
