Hong Kong's Airport Authority (AA) has decided to extend, by three months, its discount on landing fees and parking charges.

The 10% discount was due to end at the end of the year but has been extended by three months to 31 March, says the Hong Kong AA.

This will give airlines further relief against possible uncertainty on their paths to recovery," it says.

Cathay Pacific Airways' CEO Tony Tyler responded to the announcement by saying "this news is a boost to our plans to restore some services we had to suspend earlier this year."

He says there has been a "recent seasonal pick up in our passenger and freight business" but yields remain under pressure.
