Airbus chief operating officer Gustav Humbert is tipped to be named the next chief executive of Airbus as incumbent Noel Forgeard assumes the joint chief executive position at European aerospace giant and Airbus parent EADS, French newspaper La Tribune reported last week. The newspaper says that EADS co-chairman Manfred Bischoff met French finance minister Thierry Breton in Paris on 19 May, together with fellow EADS co-chairman Arnaud Lagardere, to reconcile differences between French and German shareholders over the Airbus succession, and that Humbert's nomination was "very likely". EADS declines to comment.
