IAE's already-bulging orderbook has swelled even more at Farnborough, adding to sales of 180 V2500 engines worth $1 billion, powering 83 aircraft, over the last seven weeks, says IAE president and chief executive Mike Terrett.
It has won engine orders for the following aircraft so far at the show, up until 26 July, with more expected: -five British Airways Airbus A319sn -two British Midland A319sn -four America West Airlines A319sn -30 aircraft from the A320 family for ILFC -five Monarch Airlines A321-200s."The year 2000 has been another fantastic sales year with IAE taking half of the market available for Airbus [aircraft]," says Terrett.
So far this year it has sold engines worth $1.7 billion, grabbing a 60% share of the A320 family market.
In the next few years IAE will be ramping up its engine production rate to match the delivery schedule of Airbus.
