British Airways has contracted Iberia Maintenance to maintain the CFM International CFM56-5B engines of the two Airbus A318s which it operates in all-premium configuration between London City airport and New York.
BA inked the contract with the technical arm of its International Airlines Group sister carrier Iberia for the next five years.
The agreement follows a previous co-operation between the two companies over the past seven years whereby Iberia Maintenance supported the Rolls-Royce RB211-535 engines for BA's Boeing 757 fleet.
BA has since retired its 757 aircraft.
