A new Icelandic charter carrier, MD Airlines, has begun services between European destinations with a 162-seat Boeing MD-81. Operations were initiated last month between Stockholm and Bologna, Italy, on behalf of the tour operator Destination Europa/Traffic Europa. The carrier is associated with Icelandic cargo airline MK Flugfélagid. Other destinations to be served from mid-year include Alicante and Malaga in Spain, Edinburgh in the UK, Nice in France and Thessaloniki in Greece.
