Space Imaging has released 10 high resolution images taken by its Ikonos satellite, launched a year ago. One image of London, shows the London Eye Millennium Wheel, the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace. Ikonos has collected 24 million km² (9.2 million miles²) of imagery in the past year. The 200,000 images are being used to monitor wildfires near inhabited areas, flooding, erosion, crop disease and population growth.
