BDLI president Dr Thomas Enders believes that although there has been an upturn in the aviation and space industry there is still a shortage of suitably qualified specialists.

And last month the BDLI’s members said they are planning to “create jobs for almost 4,000 engineers and 2,000 skilled workers in 2008.  With some 900 vacancies in our industry which cannot be filled at the present time.”

Enders believes this poses a threat to Germany’s position as a major location for the industry.

And to help counter that threat, here at ILA, is the perfect place to find out more about a career in aerospace, with a dedicated programme on May 30 and 31 in Hall 6A. The “Career Centre” will give opportunities for visitors o make direct contact with future employers.  There are more than 50 companies and institutions providing information and advising on how to successfully submit job applications.
