Flight-testing has begun on the improved Northrop Grumman EF-111A electronic-warfare aircraft at Eglin AFB, Florida. The flight test programme will check out encoder/processor upgrades designed to provide increased signal-processing and improved reliability and maintainability. Engineering and manufacturing development of the upgrade will be completed in 1996. Other product-improvement research and development will be finished in 1999.
