Freight merger

Lufthansa and Deutsche Post are looking at a pooling of their logistics operations which could see DHL International, Lufthansa Cargo and Air Express International brought under a single structure. The German post giant and Lufthansa each have a 25%stake in express delivery specialist DHL International, while Deutsche Post also purchased Air Express International last year. The new group would be the world's largest air freight forwarder, with an annual turnover of DM17 billion ($8.6 billion.) Talks are to be completed by April.

SAA to privatise?

South African Airways (SAA) could be set for a flotation next year, with a London stock exchange listing worth £1 billion ($1.6 billion) said to be on the cards, according to local press reports.
