•  PanAmSat and Japan’s JSAT will form a 50:50 joint venture, Horizons-2, to launch a Ku-band satellite in late 2007 to meet increased broadband demand in the USA. They have operated Horizons-1 jointly since 2001.
  •  Arianespace is to launch the IPSTAR satellite by Ariane 5GS on 7-8 July, followed as early as 28 July by Spaceway 2 and Telkom 2 on an Ariane 5ECA, and in late August by Insat 4A and Meteosat MSG 2 on an Ariane 5GS.
  •  The fifth NPO PK-built Express AM satellite for Russia Space Communications, AM-3, was launched by Proton K from Baikonur on 24 June.
