The Indian air force has selected a variant of the Israeli Elta El/M 2032 pulse-Doppler radar as part of an upgrade for its maritime-strike Sepecat Jaguars.

The Israeli company will supply ten radars for the upgrade programme, along with an additional radar for integration trials. The first flight of the upgraded Jaguar is expected in around 18 months.

France's Dassault Electronique, offering the Anenome radar, and Russia's Phazotron, proposing the Mosquito radar, were also competing for the Jaguar upgrade.

The Israeli radar will replace the Thomson-CSF Agave, which was becoming difficult to support because of its age.
