India's domestic airlines carried 4.1 million passengers in January, up 22.7% year-on-year.
Jet Airways and its subsidiary JetLite led the market with 1 million passengers and a market share of 25.2%, says India's ministry of civil aviation.
Kingfisher was second with 908,000 passengers and a market share of 22.2%, it adds.
Air India carried 734,000 passengers (18%), IndiGo 625,000 (15.3%), SpiceJet 500,000 (12.2%), GoAir 220,000 (5.4%), and Paramount Airways 72,000 (1.8%).
In terms of passenger load factors for domestic carriers, Air India posted 73.6%, Jet Airways 73.7%, JetLite 74.9%, Kingfisher 76.4%, SpiceJet 82.1%, GoAir 77.1%, Paramount 87.8% and IndiGo 83.2%, says the ministry.
