Indonesian charter carrier Transwisata Prima Aviation is buying two Fokker 50s from Lufthansa's regional carrier CityLine and plans to use the turboprop aircraft for VIP charter flights in Indonesia.

Transwisata is acquiring more aircraft partly because it has won some assignments to transport politicians campaigning in the lead-up to the Indonesian elections in September. The airline's president director Rusdam Suhanda, in Germany to meet Lufthansa CityLine executives, confirms that Transwisata will buy the two Fokker 50s from Lufthansa's CityLine. Both aircraft are due to arrive in Indonesia in the coming weeks. Transwisata operates one Fokker F28 and one Fokker 100 as well as a Fokker 50 it bought early last year from Lufthansa.
