The South African aviation industry has undergone a shake-up with the collapse of business-class-only airline Sunair and one of the country's major charter companies, Million Air Charter. Sunair's owner Circ Debt Management put the airline into liquidation after failing to raise rescue funds to pay off a R19 million ($2.9 million) debt. Million Air later folded after Sunair failed to pay R4.5 million for the wet-lease of two McDonnell Douglas DC-9s.
