WEPPS SUCCESS

Boeing 777 operators have the opportunity to reduce maintenance costs for their emergency lighting systems following certification of STG Aerospace's (stand 6A86) Wireless Emergency Primary Power System (WEPPS) for the widebody twinjet. The approval follows the successful installation of WEPPS on a Kenya Airways 777. WEPPS integrates wireless monitoring, real-time minimum equipment list diagnostics and solid state operation for managing and powering emergency lighting systems.


LIBYAN STAYS ON AIR

OnAir (stand 6G30b) is to install SwiftBroadband Mobile OnAir and WiFi Internet OnAir inflight passenger communications services aboard Libyan Airlines' fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft. The carrier is due to receive its first A330 in June 2011. "With OnAir providing both GSM/GPRS as well as Wi-Fi internet, Libyan Airlines' passengers will have the broadest range of inflight connectivity options available anywhere in the world today," says says Benoit Debains, CEO of OnAir. Libyan selected OnAir for its single-aisle fleet in August last year (comprising four Airbus A320 aircraft to be delivered this year).


TAPIS PARTNERSHIP

Tapis (stand 6C55) has partnered with The Leather Institute to help its customers clean and repair its Ultraleather fabric. Through this partnership, Tapis says it can offer an effective biodegradable cleaner that works well for general maintenance of Ultraleather. Demonstrations are being performed at the Tapis booth throughout the show.


WASP LIGHT

Two new suite lighting designs known as Snake and Eyeball have been added to the range offered by Wessex Advanced Switching Products (stand 5D40)) to compliment the company's selection of mood, reading, puddle and wash lighting. The lights use LED technology and can be operated from either local control via a separate unit or through passenger/seat control or suite control units.
