Portable IFE device manufacturer digEcor arrives at the show having just unveiled a new business unit dedicated to high-end shopping to help airlines customers drive more ancillary revenue.
Branded as the "Mill Creek Shoppe," digEcor says it plans to start offering a digital shopping experience in the coming months on its digEplayer XT and L Series devices.
"In order to differentiate our offerings, we feature many items that are unique and hard to find. As we partner with airlines, we can also create a custom selection of goods that fits unique passenger preferences based on destination or culture," says digEcor president Brad Heckel.
MillCreekShoppe.com is home to all the available products, with a tailored subset loaded onto digEplayers for purchase. Products featured on the site include kitchen and home accessories, travel items, computer and office supplies, apparel and accessories and sporting goods.
A built-in credit card swipe makes it possible for passengers to make those impulse buys during a flight, with revenues split between digEcor and the airline.
