Thermoplastic sheet manufacturer Kydex is introducing its new 6503 color collection here at the show for its products used in aircraft seating components.
Kydex works largely with seat manufacturers B/E Aerospace, Contour and Weber and during the first day of the show the company estimates it spoke with 30-40 companies.
Typical thermoplastic sheeting has a dull appearance under LED lighting becoming more prolific onboard aircraft, says Kydex International business manager Ronn Cort. Kydex uses its own special manufacturing process where a pigment additive is used to make the material reflective.
Kydex material will be featured in Air New Zealand's new premium economy seats.
