GuestLogix has secured its first major Asia-Pacific customer after Qantas agreed to deploy the company's OnTouch onboard retail technology.
OnTouch allows airline passengers to purchase merchandise during flight, and GuestLogix's airline customers have the ability to tailor and deploy offerings to suit specific destinations. The new agreement with Qantas will initially cover the expedition of onboard sales transactions for existing duty free offerings and to facilitate future sales of products and services.
GuestLogix worked with its channel partner Alpha Flight Services Australia to secure the business from Qantas, which will incorporate travel-related destination based offerings into OnTouch within the next 12 months.
"Qantas is an ideal carrier to be introducing such offerings as its average flight duration is 3.5 hours," says GuestLogix. "There is a direct and positive correlation between longer flight time and the propensity to purchase onboard."
