Supracor is using the show to debut its lightweight honeycomb aircraft seat cushions, using "Thin is in" as its trademark.
The cushions are made from thermo plastic urethane, which is fully recyclable, says Supracor global sales support Brad Stern. "This requires less thickness than foam, it gives passengers more living space and it's ventilated."
Supracor's cushions have already been commissioned for use as crew rest seats on the Boeing 787 and 747-8 Intercontinental, says Stern.
"Our goal is to get more customers. We want to promote our product not just to airlines but to companies that make the seats."
Supracor is relatively new to the aviation industry; its background is in manufacturing wheelchair seats and hospital beds.
