EC-US open sky talks revived

European Commission and US officials have launched a campaign to revive the aviation liberalisation negotiations that stalled late last year. Germany is spearheading the effort in hopes to achieve an agreement during its presidency of the European Union, which runs until the end of June.

Corporates slam BA plan

Forty-one corporate clients have written to British Airways promising to take their business elsewhere if BA fails to conclude negotiations with its four major global distribution system providers "with your best customers top of mind". BA is threatening to pass on booking charges to its corporate customers if it fails to win a cost-cutting deal. "We are under considerable pressure to reduce costs," it says.
