INDONESIAN AIRCRAFT manufacturer IPTN is to establish a new marketing subsidiary in Lower Saxony, Germany, to promote its N-250 turboprop in Europe. The company is to be founded in co-operation with former Deutsche Aerospace maintenance subsidiary Aircraft Services Lemwerder (ASL).

Under the terms of a memorandum of understanding signed in 1995, IPTN will take a 25.1% share in ASL, which is authorised as the sole agent to market the N-250 in Europe. ASL has, in turn, appointed IPTN to market its services in South-East Asia.

A final contract is due to be signed by the end of May. IPTN-Europe will push for European certification for the N-250 through the German aviation authority.
